A good health of the applicant, completed Application Form together with items (see Application Form) attached are accepted by the Academic Agency.

ENTRANCE  PROCEDURE  AT  FACULTY  OF  MEDICINE

The entrance procedure consists of written test in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The questions in the test are based on the disciplines taught in High School. The curriculum equals the programs of all European Faculties. There are two courses of study / General medicine and Dental Medicine. The first two years are dedicated to the basic disciplines such Anatomy, Histology, Embryology, Biophysics, medical Chemistry, Medical Terminology and Physiology. In the third and fourth year the preclinical subjects such as Pathological Anatomy, Pathological Physiology, Microbiology and Pharmacology are studied.
Student of the dental Course also study the basic disciplines during the first two years as well as Dental subject. In the third year students start Clinical subjects. The teaching of the theoretical and preclinical disciplines is provided at Institutes within the Faculty.
Education in clinical disciplines is concentrated in modern facilities of the Teaching Hospital. During the course of studying theoretical, preclinical and clinical disciplines, emphasis is placed upon using modern Computer Centre.
During the course of studies the student is, however, also supposed to demonstrate his scientific research ability.
Having completed the studies in both courses students are graduated at a tradition ceremony, receiving the Degree Doctor of Medicine, M.D.
In most disciplines, the teaching process is terminated by credit {according to European Community Course Credit Transfer System] and examination. As a rule, Course examinations are oral, in some cases combined with a written test. All degree programs are concluded by one or more State Final Examinations.

GRADES

There are two types of examinations:

I. Examination: there are four grades as follow:
          1 excellent, 2 very good, 3 good, 4 insufficient.
          The minimum pas level is 3, 4 means failure.

II. Examination: the scale is only passed or failed.

Study of foreign students at Universities in Czech is free of charge. International students who wish to study at the University in Czech must have a suficient command of Czech language. Before enrolled on the first stage of personal University program, the student will follow One Year Preparatory Program in Czech, at the Institute of Language and Professional Preparation of Charles University.

COST  OF  THE  UNIVERSITY  STUDIES

Medicine, Dentistry:	8 500 - 10 000 EUR	(depend of the faculty)
Technical fields and other:	5 000 - 6 000 EUR
Economics Management:	4 500 - 6 000 EUR
Computers Cybernetics:	5 500 - 6 000 EUR

The academic fee charged by the Faculty covers tuition and examination costs. It does not cover the expenses of accommodation, board and books.

STUDY  VISA  (not for European Union)

Each student must apply for the study visa at the Czech Embassy in student country. Please contact the Embassy for precise information.

a)  Passport
b)  Confirmation of studies from the Academic Agency (University) / Admission letter
c)  Banking deposit or to show Credit Card
d)  Confirmation of accommodation from the Academic Agency / University
e)  Criminal Record Documentation
f)  Two passport size photos
